If I knew
假如我知道
If I knew it would be the last time I'd see you fall asleep,
假如我知道這是最后一次看到你進(jìn)入夢(mèng)鄉(xiāng)，
I would tuck you in more tightly and "pray the lord , your soul to keep".
我會(huì)給你掖緊被子，并“祈求上的，讓你的靈魂常在”。
If I knew it would be the last time I'd see you walk out the door,
假如我知道這將是你最后一次邁出家門，
I would give you a hug and kiss you, and call you back for more.
我會(huì)親吻你，擁抱你，一遍遍地喚著你回來。
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise.
假如我知道這將是最后一次聽到你在贊揚(yáng)中高亢的聲音，
I would video tape each action and word , so I could play them back day after day.
我會(huì)記錄下你每一句言語，每一個(gè)動(dòng)作，這樣我可以日日地不停播放。
If I knew it would be the last time I could spare an extra minute or so to stop and say"I love you, "instead of assuming you would know I do.

If I knew it would be the last time I would be there so share you day,

But, just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, and today may be the last chance you get to hold your love tight.

So, if you'er waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today?

For, if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day...

That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a huge, or a kiss, and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.

So, hold your loved ones close today, and whisper in their ear, that you love them very much and you'll always hold them dear.
所以，緊緊擁抱你的愛人吧，就在今天，對(duì)他們耳語，你深深的愛他們，并永遠(yuǎn)珍惜他們。
Take time to say"I'm sorry", "please forgive me", "thank you"or""it's okay.
抽出一些時(shí)間說“對(duì)不起”、“請(qǐng)?jiān)彙薄ⅰ爸x謝”或者“沒關(guān)系”吧。
And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.
即使明天永遠(yuǎn)不能到來，你也不會(huì)為今天而后悔。

A carpenter's story
木匠的故事
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurel life with his wife and enjoy his extended family. He would miss the paycheck each week ,but he wanted to retire. They could get by.
有個(gè)老木匠準(zhǔn)備退休，他告訴老板，說要離開建造行業(yè)，回家與妻子兒女享受天倫之樂。雖然老板給他的工資很高，可是，他更想享受退休生活。生活總能維持下去。
The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes,but over time it was easy to see that his heart was not materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.
老板很不舍得他的好工人離開，問他是否能幫忙再建一座房子。老木匠答應(yīng)了。但是大家后來都看得出來，他的心已不在工作上，他使用的是次料，做工也很粗糙。這真是一種令人遺憾的結(jié)束自己全心全意所從事的'事業(yè)的方式。
When the carpenter finished his work ,his employer came to inspect the house. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said,"This is your house. . . my gift to you. "
房子建好的時(shí)候，老板前來視察，然后把大門的鑰匙遞給他，說道：“這是你的房子……是我送給你的禮物。”
The carpenter was shocked!
老木匠驚呆了!
What a shame!If he had only known he was building his own house,he would have done it all so differently.
真是丟臉啊!如果他早知道是在給自己建房子，他一定不會(huì)這么應(yīng)付了事的。
So it is with us . We build our lives, a day at a time,often putting less than our best into the building. Then, with a shock;we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over,we would do it much differently.
我們又何嘗不是這樣。我們漫不經(jīng)心地“建造”自己的生活，不是積極行動(dòng)，而是消極應(yīng)付，凡事不肯精益求精，在關(guān)鍵時(shí)刻不能盡最大努力。等我們驚覺自己的處境，早已深困在自己建造的“房子”里了。如果能夠重新來過，我們一定不會(huì)這么做。
But, you cannot go back. You are the carpenter,and everyday you hammer a nail,place a board ,or erect a wall,Someone once said,"Life is a do-it-yourself project. "Your attitude and the choices you made today,help build the "house"you will live in tomorrow. Therefore,build wisely!
但是，你永遠(yuǎn)也無法回到過去。你就是那個(gè)木匠，在建造“生活”這所房子，每天敲進(jìn)去一顆釘，加上去一塊板，或者砌起一面墻。有人曾經(jīng)說過：“生活就是一項(xiàng)DIY的工程”。你今天的態(tài)度與選擇決定了你明天會(huì)住在什么樣的“房子”里。因此，用你的智慧去建造你的"房子"吧!
