　　A Complaint

　　There is a change—and I am poor；

　　Your love hath been, nor long ago,

　　A fountain at my fond heart’s door,

　　Whose only business was to flow；

　　And flow it did; not taking heed

　　Of its bounty, or my need．

　　What happy moments did I count!

　　Blest was I then all bliss above!

　　Now for that consecrated fount

　　Of murmuring, sparkling, living love,

　　What have I? shall I dare to tell?

　　A comfortless and hidden well．

　　A well of love—it may be deep--

　　I trust it is,—and never dry：

　　What matter? if the waters sleep

　　In silence and obscurity．

　　Of my fond heart, hath made me poor．

　　威廉·華滋華斯(Willian Wordsworth1770—1850)英國詩人 英語利用動詞形態(tài)變化表達(dá)時間順序和動作狀態(tài),漢語沒有對應(yīng)語法手段,翻譯時只能用增詞等手段來表達(dá),要求不著一絲痕跡。全詩運(yùn)用比喻一比到底。點睛之筆及精妙之處是第三小節(jié)中間兩行,用 “死水” 翻譯 “waters sleep” 可謂殊途同歸。
